New Business School Dean Announced

Dr. Jess Boronico has been tapped as the university’s next dean for the School of Business. Boronico has compiled an extensive and outstanding record of academic business leadership positions at a variety of schools including NYIT, the University of New Haven, William Paterson University, and Monmouth University.

Learn About Our Program

In addition to Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Business Administration, the School of Business at SCSU offers undergraduate minor programs in Accounting, Marketing, Real Estate, Economics, Business Informational Systems, Management, and HRM and has served over 700 non-business students across the campus between 2015 and 2021. As a result of a shared vision to build a sustainable local economy and instill entrepreneurship competence in Connecticut’s residents, a newly created entrepreneurship minor program will be offered in Fall 2022.

Here is a snapshot of the entrepreneurship minor program:

  • The Entrepreneurship Minor Program is an 18-credit-hour program.
  • The work can be split amongst several semesters at Southern.
  • The course will be both remote and in-person.
  • The minor program focuses on experiential and hands-on learning modules with a capstone (3 credits) course in the senior year.

Why should the student choose an Entrepreneurship Minor?

  • It can be applied to all majors (both business and non-business).
  • There are additional social, economic, and career benefits to any undergraduate education.
  • Adding a versatile program will strengthen the action potential for future business creation.
